GenesisCare Research conducts high-quality clinical research in the areas of medical oncology, radiation oncology, haematology, and Theranostics.
All clinical research conducted by GenesisCare Research conforms to all relevant laws and regulations in Australia. This includes the the National statement on Ethical conduct in Human Research (2007) updated 2018 produced by the National Health and Medical Research Council (NHMRC) and the Australian Code of Responsible Conduct of Research 1.
Before any interventional clinical trial can proceed it must also be approved by a human research ethics committee which operates according to the NHMRC guidelines 2.
By investigating new and emerging therapies, GenesisCare Research hopes to contribute valuable data to improve future health outcomes for all Australians and the wider global community.
Any research study that prospectively assigns human participants or groups of humans to one or more health-related interventions to evaluate the effects on health outcomes.

About Clinical Trials
Clinical trials allow researchers to try out new treatments, tests or procedures that may prevent, detect or diagnose, treat or manage diseases or conditions in humans.
Some trials are interventional, which investigate the safety or effectiveness (or both) of a novel medicine, medical device, surgery or procedure, therapeutic strategy or other intervention in human participants.
Other trials are observational, which involve the collection and analysis of data from human participants without making any changes to their existing treatment or lifestyle.

Many new treatments that help people live longer and healthier lives are only possible because of the willingness of volunteers to take part in clinical trials. If more people are involved in clinical trials, it may reduce the time it takes for new treatments to become available to the general population1.
People participate in clinical trials for a variety of reasons:
- To contribute to the advancement of scientific knowledge
- To help researchers find better treatments for others in the future
- To gain access to new treatments which they may receive a benefit from, before they have been approved for wider use
